A<\/strong><\/h1><p>The <strong>E-60 Ausf. A \"S\u00e4belzahntiger\"<\/strong> was the <strong>first variant of the E-60 series<\/strong>, designed primarily as a <strong>test and pre-production model<\/strong> to evaluate the feasibility of the <strong>60-ton tank concept<\/strong>. To expedite production and <strong>facilitate early field deployment<\/strong>, it was <strong>equipped with the E-50 turret<\/strong>, rather than a newly designed one, making it a transitional design between the <strong>E-50 and the later E-60 variants<\/strong>.<\/p><p>With a <strong>total production of around 100 units<\/strong>, the <strong>E-60 Ausf. A<\/strong> was deployed in <strong>limited numbers before being quickly replaced by the more refined Ausf. B version<\/strong>.<\/p><h2><strong>Design and Features<\/strong><\/h2><p>As the <strong>initial prototype and experimental variant<\/strong>, the <strong>E-60 Ausf.
