German WWII Horten XVIIIA super long-range strategic bomber
The Horten XVIIIA featured a flying wing design, which means it lacked a traditional fuselage with a separate wing. The entire aircraft was a wing, providing certain aerodynamic advantages.
It was conceived as a long-range strategic bomber capable of carrying a significant payload over extended distances. This was in line with Germany's interest in developing advanced aircraft for strategic bombing.
The design included jet engines for propulsion. Jet engines were relatively new technology during World War II, and incorporating them into the Horten XVIII A would have provided the aircraft with enhanced speed and performance.
The flying wing design inherently had some stealthy characteristics, making it less susceptible to radar detection compared to conventional aircraft of the time.
